We are based in Walsall, ten minutes from Willenhall. For active leaks in WV13 we are usually with you inside two hours. Roof repairs from £150, new roofs from £4,000. Call 24 hours, 7 days.
Willenhall is the old lock-making town on the Wolverhampton side of Walsall, with most of its housing stock built from Victorian terraces through to 1970s overspill estates. The town centre streets around Temple Bar and Walsall Street have the oldest properties, while the Neachells Lane and Short Heath areas are post-war semi-detached.
The Victorian terraces around the town centre and New Road have two-pitch slate roofs, mostly clay or Welsh slate now nail-sick — the slates themselves are sound but the iron nails have corroded. Party wall flashings and shared valley gutters are where leaks most often come from. Lead step flashing at chimney abutments is another regular job.
The 1950s–1960s semis on Neachells Lane and the Short Heath estate have concrete plain tiles, mortar ridges and bituminous felt underlay that has lost its function. Rear flat-roof extensions in single-ply felt are common and mostly overdue for replacement. Gable verge mortar lifts in winter and is a frequent source of blown-in water.
